Full Day Tour
Departure from the hotel at 6:00 a.m. to then go to the Pudeto sector to cross Lake Pehoé on a catamaran (not included in the rate), to the Paine Grande Refuge. From there we will start our walk, heading to the Gray Glacier viewpoint, to enjoy a spectacular view of this imposing mass of ice that emerges from the Southern Ice Field.
At first we walked along the side of a small lagoon, leaving Lake Pehoé behind. We will arrive at the “Quebrada de los Vientos” sector, just before reaching a sector of large rounded rocks from where the southern beach of Lake Grey is visible, normally populated with ice.
We will continue with our walk for approximately 2 hours, heading northwest. The route contemplates a flat terrain with small “lengas” to later reach an area of about 450 meters above sea level. From there a slight descent begins with Lake Grey on our left. Half an hour before arriving at the Grey Refuge, we will appreciate a humid terrain with abundant vegetation. Later, we will cross a bridge over the Olguín River, located on a narrow section of the river. After 15 min, a short descent will take us to the refuge. From there, a short walk will take us to the Grey Glacier viewpoint.
At the end, the return is by the same route to Paine Grande Refuge, from where we will take the catamaran again to the Pudeto sector, arriving at our vehicle that will take us back to Puerto Natales, arriving at the hotel around 9:00 p.m.
